Private Lessons
Private lessons give you dedicated one-on-one time with a knowledgeable instructor. Your lesson will be focused on exactly what you want to learn and will move at your pace. Private lessons are the best way to get the learning and assistance you want without having to wait for a group class. Group classes are great, but sometimes it means waiting for a class to be developed and scheduled. And even after that, there's a chance you won't be able to make the date(s), or the rare occasion when a class may not run due to low enrollment.
We currently have 5 instructors, each with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.
Each instructor sets their own schedule and availability. Our instructors tell us when they are available and we schedule lesson slots accordingly. Your instructor comes to the shop just to meet with you. Please review our Private Lesson Policies.
You can see Private Lessons, Group Classes, and Gatherings on the Calendar.

Handspinning
Topics with spindles or spinning wheels can be tackled in private lessons with Stephanie or Kri. Beginning spinning lessons on a spindle or wheel should be booked for a 2 hour duration unless you have already had a conversation with Stephanie about your goals. If you don't need the full 2 hours for your lesson we will refund or prorate unused time, but in most cases 2 hours is the perfect amount of time. We love questions! Ask before you book your lesson time if you need help to refine your lesson needs and time requirements.
Handweaving
Topics with rigid heddle looms and small table looms can be tackled in private lessons with Stephanie. First time weaving lessons usually need 3 hrs. First time lessons will take you through setting up the loom, dressing the loom, and get you started with some weaving skills. Any lesson that will include warping a loom as part of the lesson are usually 2 hours minimum. Some skills and weaving techniques can be tackled in just a 1 hour session if you have your loom and weaving already prepared. We love questions!
