Class - Summer Tee

Summer by Ankestrick is a cap sleeved dolman top perfect for warmer weather or layering in cooler weather.

Meets 5 times on Sat mornings 10am-12:30pm starting Feb 21.
March 14 - NO CLASS
April 4 - Reserved for possible winter weather make up.

This easy wearing top is perfect for layering or on its own as the weather warms. You can add sleeves or keep it short. Each class meeting will review topics related to the sections of projects currently being worked or upcoming within your project. You should work at your own pace and Stephanie will help guide you as you encounter new techniques or need assistance. The pattern is short sleeved (cap-sleeve/dolman-sleeve) but you can add longer sleeves (any length) with a little help from Stephanie in class.

Skills Required:
This class is considered intermediate and is appropriate as a first sweater for knitters who already know how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off. Knowledge of increases and decreases is helpful but you can learn this in class.

Project/Pattern:

Finished bust circumference: 37.75” (41”, 43.25”, 47.25”, 51.5”)(56.75”, 61.5”, 67”)

The designer recommends 4.75”-7” of positive ease. (We’ll have a brief discussion about size and ease at the first class meeting.)

Yarn:

This pattern calls for DK weight yarn but could work well in Worsted or Sport weight yarns as well. You should like the fabric your yarn creates, preferably at the specified pattern gauge. Small discrepancies in gauge can be accommodated by choosing a different size. We’ll have a quick discussion about size selection and gauge on the first day of class. For best results you should come to the first class with a gauge swatch. (Please wash and block your swatch the way you plan to launder your finished garment.)

Pattern Gauge: 22 sts x 30 rows/rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in Stockinette stitch.

Yardage: 740 (800, 875, 1000, 1120)(1260, 1260, 1260) yards

Designer’s sample was made using 3 (3, 4, 4, 5)(5, 6, 6) skeins of Frida Fuchs Tamtam DK, 65% silk, 35% linen, 250m (273yds)/100g.

Stephanie’s sample was made using Cestari Ash Lawn Collection, 75% Cotton, 25% Targhee wool, 250 yds/100g.
