Class - Crochet Dotty Cowl

Join us on Friday evenings for 6 weeks this summer as we make the Dotty Cowl together.

More than just a CAL, but not an intensive technique class.  More of a relaxed low stress class for the summer.  Come to every class meeting, or attend just a few. We've priced this class so you can feel ok if you can't attend every meeting. But!!! to make this work we need to run a full class.  Register early to show your interest.

You'll learn some stuff, relax, chat, and make a neat two colored reversible cowl.  You'll have the shop to yourselves for this after-hours class.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Chain (CH)
  • Double Crochet (DC)

You'll learn:

  • Identifying stitches
  • How stitch placement can create unique textures
  • V Stitches, Spike stitches (these are just variants of chain and double crochet)
  • Working from a chart or written instructions.

Dotty by Lena Fedotova.  Approximate finished dimensions:  14.5" L x 12.5" W x 29" Circumference

The pattern leaflet from Malabrigo will be included with your class fee.  If you prefer to have an electronic copy stored in your Ravelry library, the pattern is available for $5.00 on Ravelry here.  You may purchase the pattern independently on Ravelry or we can help you make a Ravelry in-store purchase.  A ravelry in-store purchase will send the pattern to your ravelry library and we will print a copy of the pattern for you.

7 V-stitches x 11 rounds = 4" (gauge is not critical for this project)

Tapestry needle, stitch markers

Yarn: (get 10% off any yarn purchased for class project)
This pattern is written for 2 colors of Malabrigo Sock, a delicious high twist fingering weight superwash merino yarn, but; you can use any yarn you wan.! As always, you are not required to purchase yarn from Cloverhill Yarn Shop for our classes but, if you do purchase yarn for your class project we'll give you 10% off your project yarn as a thank you.

When selecting colors, consider how much contrast you may want. High contast colors or values will make the stitch pattern pop. Not sure what colors to use together? Stop by the shop before your class starts and any of our staff can help you with color selections.  We'll also talk about color selection on the first day of class.  This project would be great at showing off striping or gradient yarns; using up scraps; or playing with solids and improvised color blocking.

Yarn shown in photo:
